Be Jealous

That's right, this is the moment that you become so jealous and want what I got this weekend. A wolf t-shirt. Not just a wolf t-shirt but a TIE DYE LONE WOLF T-SHIRT. Yes, yes I know, you want one and are thinking where can I get such a treasure for my daily outfit. The answer to that is Traverse City.

We were up there this weekend and it was fabulous. We went jet skiing, swimming, eating and shopping. The shopping was food and wolf t-shirts. A.K.A. the best shopping ever.

There was this store on Front street where you can get printed T's. We decided to go in just as a joke but then we saw the prints...WOLVES!!! We have always been in love with the o-so-classy wolf shirts and this was our heaven. Not only could you get them printed on the T's but you got to pick out the t-shirt color OR sweatpants! So obviously I picked a tie dye t-shirt to get the lone wolf print on the t-shirt. My other friends got classy ones as well but my second favorite was the decision my friend Hilary made. She got a row of 5 wolves (one howling) on the butt of SWEATPANTS. So kind of like the Victoria Secret Pink sweatpants but Wolf style so they were worth the investment.

From these fabulous decisions, we have dubbed ourselves the she-wolf 5 pack. I feel it really represents our friendship and what we mean to each other. Nothing can come between our wolf connections. We are in it for life now with our wolf pack t-shirts. I am happy to say I am no longer a lone wolf but a former lone wolf and part of a wolf pack now. But my shirt represents my youth as a wolf.

Up North

This weekend three of my girl friends and I are heading up north to Traverse City. My aunt and uncle live up there and are letting us stay in their amazing house that includes pool and hot tub. I cannot wait.

Ever since high school ended, summer never really feels like summer. It used to be drive in movies, pool, tanning, lots of vacations and sleep. Now it is full of classes, work and more work so this trip up north is much needed. I want to swim and go to the beach and have a weekend where it feels like summer. It will be much needed since school is starting back up soon. I also really want to jet ski, it is probably one of the greatest things ever. It is exhilarating and I always want to go faster. This weekend up in TC is also the film festival so there will be a good amount of commotion going on.

The last time I was up in TC was a couple of years ago for my cousins wedding. It was fabulous. We got to jet ski, lay on the beach, celebrate with family and drink on the docks. The reception was right on the bay as the sun set so it couldn't have been more perfect.

Hopefully this weekend will be just as great as the last time I was up there.

Bring on the bathing suits, sun tan lotion and sun.

Return to the Homeland

I am returning to my homeland this weekend! Buffalo, New York that is.

Words cannot describe how excited I am. I do love Michigan and MSU and all my friends here, but being a part from my family all year round gets sad quickly. Especially since I am living with my best friend and her family. They are fabulous, I love them. But seeing her being able to hug her mom and dad, talk to them everyday and have their support whenever gets hard to be around when you miss your own family this much.

I also get to see all my little animals! The kittens, birds and lil stinkers of dogs. I am so excited to be able to pet all the cuties and visit them. Animals have always been a huge part of my life because my dad is a vet and has owned an animal hospital for I don't even remember when it, has been so long.

Also, I get to eat the fabulous foods of my hometown. The number one being REAL CHICKEN WINGS. Seriously, I have not found one place outside of Buffalo that can make chicken wings the way we do. It is the most fabulous food ever. I could probably eat it everyday. Plus my mother's home cooking and all the little restaurants that I love in Buffalo.

Hopefully Jackie will be coming along with me so that I can show her all the goods in my hometown. Such as Niagara Falls, Sabres Arena, my house, my high school and obviously The Anchor Bar. It will probably be the best weekend of her entire life.

So pretty much I am so excited to go home for three reasons. Family, Animals and FOOD. The three greatest things in life right? If there was one person who disagreed I would totally be ready to fight them in a cage.

Guilty Pleasure

Everyone has their guilty pleasure that they can never get enough of. Some admit what it is, while others try to hide it from others. I am not one to hide my guilty pleasures. Sure most of them are embarrassing but I guess that all my friends must accept my weirdness.

This year, my guilty pleasure has been the TV show Bones. I cannot stop watching it. Some days, when I don't have work, I can watch atleast 5 episodes of the show. I admit it isn't the best show ever written or made but I love it. It is my favorite show and it has me entranced. The fact that it has mystery of trying to find out who killed the victim, to the drama in the Smithonian lab, and the scientific touches, I love it all.

There is not one character that I am not intrigued in. Everyone brings something to the show and makes me laugh. I even liked the creepy character of Eps. The storyline of Eps was one of the most intriguing. It was also disturbing because in reality, there are serial killers out there similar to Eps. They kill for the fun of it and leave their marks of their "work."

I have also learned some about science. I haven't taken a science class since physics my junior year of highschool. Not all the science may be true in the show but it is interesting. In general, they keep it real and I learn some. Watching it with my friend who is a bio major is a whole other level because she is always one to point out in shows when something about science is incorrect. For Bones, there are not too many times where she does that.

Of course, the last and one of the greatest parts of the show is Booth. Back in the good old days I was obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I watched it religiously and loved Angel, so watching David Boreanaz in Bones is reminiscent. He is gorgeous and hilarious in the show. Plus the tension between Booth and his partner Bones is too much to handle. Everyone knows who watches the show that they are made for each other and it hurts to watch the show sometimes.

In conclusion to this mystery, science, funny, drama show is perfect. I can sit for hours watching it. I can even watch reruns. It is my guilty pleasure and I'm letting everyone know.

Love the Madness

It is the second week of my internship with Moosejaw Mountaineering and I love it. Now I am not just saying that because mmb (my mean boss) is making me write this and will be reading it. I seriously love this place.

My internship is in cohorts with the marketing team for Moosejaw. I have been able to sit in multiple marketing meetings. Meetings, boring right? Eh, not really. Sitting in a room with the marketing team enables me to learn how they establish their ideas and organize them. I now understand the excel sheet that has 50 million dates, words, colors etc. on it about when different contests and other promotions need to be sent out and put on the website. I also was able to sit in a catalog meeting which hopefully I will even be able to help get started and be a part of that team.

I have even had the honor of writing out of some the infamous emails to customers and giving out points and t-shirts. I have always loved Moosejaw for their crazy and young marketing schemes, not only because I am a little crazy myself but because they are loved by everyone and they work.

Want to know the cherry on top of it all? I even have been able to sit in a photo shoot and will be able to be a part of more. Photography people!

So let me see here, by now you are all probably jealous of my internship. I am even jealous of myself. This internship encompasses everything I love to do and what I want to do in the future. I am an arts and humanities and communications double major with two specializations in design (focus in photography) and public relations with a passion for cultures, traveling and snowboarding. Moosejaw is just that, they create fresh marketing designs to promote products for traveling and adventure. I just can't wait to find out what else is in store here. Can we just skip August and have a July V.2 so that it never ends?

p.s. Plus they bring in their dogs. If you know me and my love for animals you'd understand.

Zombies

Zombies, are they here with us? Do they want to eat us? Are they hiding in the corners of abandoned buildings? Is it a virus or a breed? If they want to kill us, can we protect ourselves? Zombies raise many questions.

Personally I have had many years of experience, if zombies do want to eat us, I am ready for it. Even if I just have a machete in hand, there is no chance of turning into one of them. I hope that many others in this world can gain experience and human survival is prominent. If I become the only one left, I am unsure if I can keep going on. With no one to talk to and keep me company it might get lonely. I could keep a zombie as a pet but the drool can get quite irritating.

Then again, maybe zombies just want peace. We could try to reach out and hope for the best. The best being that maybe the zombies just want to have a tea party and have a girls night out. We could share our love for Baskin Robbins chocolate chip ice cream and watch the science fiction movie I am Legend. We could giggle about the ignorance of Hollywood and the misunderstanding of zombies.

Who will come with me, to reach out to the zombies? I'll bring an offering, Moosejaw Stickers. That could be our common bond. If it goes wrong, I'll have my machete in my back pocket.
